Gauge field copies
The problem of Wu-Yang ambiguities in 3 dimensions is related to the problem of existence of torsion free driebeins for an arbitrary potential. The ambiguity is only at the level of boundary conditions. We also find that in 3 dimensions, any smooth Yang-Mills field tensor can be uniquely written as the non-Abelian magnetic field of a smooth Yang-Mills potential. PACS No(s). 11.15.-q 04.20.-q Ty...
متن کاملCopies , Concepts and Time
Copies are defined by their relation to an original. The understanding and evaluation of this relationship has been changing over time. A main argument of this article is that originals and copies are phenomena with no “natural” or essential meaning outside of their specific historical settings. The idea to be explored is how changing historicity regimes have transformed notions of originals an...
متن کاملNeurophysiology: Cerebral Carbon Copies
Predicting the consequences of our actions is essential for sensorimotor control. A candidate neural pathway underlying the prediction of eye position during saccades has been reported.
متن کاملShape-from-copies
It is shown how multiple occurrences of a planar shape in a single plane or parallel planes can be used to extract information about their common orientation and to consequently deproject the image. This special case of shape-from-contour is coined "shape-from-copies". In particular, pseudoorthographic projections of planar contour segments related by a similarity are considered. Skewed rotatio...
متن کاملColour , copies and confinement
In this paper we construct a wide class of Gribov copies in Coulomb gauge SU(2) gauge theory. Infinitesimal copies are studied in some detail and their nonperturbative nature is made manifest. As an application it is shown that the copies prevent a non-perturbative definition of colour charge.
